That Ben Carson needs glasses because he can't read what the homework says, and when his mother asks what a cereal box says he can't read it either.

Their mother limited Ben's and his brother's TV time to a few select programs and refused to let them go outside to play until they had finished their homework. She also required them to read two library books a week and give her written reports.
