[tex]\left( (3x^2-2x-8)+(4x^2+2x-1) \right) - \left( (5x^2-4x)+(2x^2-13x+4) \right)[/tex]

[tex]= \left( 7x^2-9\right)-\left( 7x^2-17x+4 \right)[/tex]

[tex]=17x-13[/tex]

That much larger.
