The probability of getting any one number would be 1/6

There are 2 numbers that are lower than 3, so the probability would be 1/6 + 1/6 = 2/6, which simplifies to 1/3.

There are 6 numbers on a die (1,2,3,4,5,6) So to roll a die is the equivalent of randomly picking one of those numbers only two numbers out of 6 are less than 3, so the odds are 2/6 simplified to 1/3
