Okay what is y - 5(2 - y) = 8​

I really need help cause I struggle way too much.

The answer is y = 3
Explanation:
First, get rid of the parenthesis, by multiplying -5 and 2. Then, multiply -5 and -y. The equation is now y - 10 + 5y = 8. Next, do 5y + y, and 8 + 10. Now the equation is 6y = 18. Lastly, divide 18 by 6, and you will get y = 3.
