Step-by-step explanation:

3z+ 5 = 35

-5 -5

( 5 minus 5 cancels out: 0)

(35-5=30)

3z=30

3 3

(3 divided by 3 is 1 or you can just leave it as the variable, z.)

(30 divided by 3 is 10)

z = 10

Check:

3z+5 =35

z=10

  1. 3(10) +5= 35
  2. 30+5= 35
  3. 35=35 ☑️
