The midpoint M is defined as [tex]M\Big(\dfrac{x_1+x_2}{2},\dfrac{y_1+y_2}{2}\Big)[/tex]

where [tex]P_1(x_1,y_1),P_2(x_2,y_2)[/tex].

So we have

[tex]M\Big(\dfrac{2a-4a}{2},\dfrac{4b+0}{2}\Big)=\boxed{M\Big(-a,2b\Big)}[/tex]
