[tex] 2x^2-3x+1=0\\ \Delta=(-3)^2-4\cdot2\cdot1=9-8=1[/tex]

[tex]\Delta\ \textgreater \ 0[/tex] so there are two solutions, therefore two intersections with the x-axis.
