2 Cr + 3 I₂= 2 CrI₃

mole ratio:

3 moles I₂ ---------------- 2 moles CrI₃
( moles I₂) --------------- 0.3 moles CrI₃

moles iodine ( I₂ ) = 0.3 x 3 / 2

moles iodine = 0.9 / 2

= 0.45 moles of iodine

hope this helps!
