Reorder terms:

(8+n)+(n-12)=0

Remover first parentheses :

8+n+(n-12)=0

Reorder (again):

8-12+n+n=0

Simplify:

-4+2n=0

Add 4 to both sides:

2n=4

Divide and you’re done!
