Answer:
x - 2y = 12--------------eq(1)
15x + 3y =-44--------------eq(2)
multiply the 1st equation by 15
therefore we get a new equation..and we mark it as 3rd eq
15x - 30y = 180-------eq(3)
15x + 3y =-44--------------eq(2)
now you can see (x) term in both the equations are the same...so
there is a law in elimination method
if the terms are equal we subtract the rest without the equaled term
if the terms are different we add the rest without the different term
so here term are equal so we subtract
eq(3)-eq(2)
-30y -3y = 180 -(-44)
-33y = 224
y = -224/33
then let's get the answer for (x) term by substitute the answer we got for y to any of the above equation without our new equation (3)
x - 2y = 12--------------eq(1)
x - 2 (-224/33) = 12
x = -52/33
