Somewhere in lines 1-6, he writes:

"The rotting flax “swelter[s]” in the sun every day; it releases “Bubbles” that burble up from the depths of the swamp. And bluebottle flies constantly buzz around it.

In doing so, he is able to effectively utilize imagery to communicate the ambiance of the place being referred to in the poem.
