Create equivalent expressions in the equation that all have equal bases.2^(1+2x)=2^5
Since the bases are the same, then two expressions are only equal if the exponents are also equal.
1+2x=5
2x=4
x=2
Hence
2^(1+2(2)) = 2^(1+4)
                 = 2^(5)
                 = 32
