Are Input and output used to communicate between a human and a processing system?

The answer is true. The input is what the operator/user/human uses to talk to the computer and the output is the signal back to show the human what they need to see. For example they keys on a keyboard are inputs and the monitor is an output. Inputs and outputs can also be used in terms of voltage, but that's another explanation.
