Why do plants need leaves? What do the leaves do...?

Leaves "catch" sunlight and chloroplasts in the leaves convert the sunlight to chemical energy in a process called photosynthesis, which turns this chemical energy into glucose (sugar) food for the plant. Without leaves, the plants would not have food. I hope I helped!
