6=4x+y    -5x-y=21
y=6+4x    y=-5x-21
6+4x=-5x-21
6=-9x-21
27=-9x
-3=x

x=-3, and y=-6. To show how you worked the problem, you would have to move around one of the equations, and then substitute the variable.
