The south was fighting for state rights, and mostly the cause of the war was slavery as the south had a slave market they used slaves to make cotton and the Civil War was the deadliest war of USA killed a lot of people, the civil war did end on the Union victory but the Civil War is still not repaired as the south still contains Racist groups like the KKK and more.
