An arithmetic sequence always has the rule:

a(n)=a+d(n-1), a=initial term, d=common difference, n=term number

In this case, a=13 and d=9 so

a(n)=13+9n-9

a(n)=9n+4

so the first 5 terms are:

13, 22, 31, 40, 49
