Most protist diseases in humans are caused by protozoa. Protozoa make humans sick when they become human parasites. Trypanosoma protozoa cause Chagasdisease and sleeping sickness. Giardia protozoa cause giardiasis, and Plasmodiumprotozoa cause malaria.
