What is the solution of the inequality -6x-17≥8x+25

-6x -17> 8x + 25.
Get x on one side; Subtract 8x from both sides.
-14x -17 > 25.
Add 17 to both sides to get x by itself.
-14x>42.
Divide both sides by -14 (remember to flip the inequality when dividing by negatives).
x <_ 3 is your solution (line under the inequality).
