What was an important concern for the Founding Fathers when drafting the Articles of Confederation?

The founding fathers did not want the federal government to have too much control. Just freeing themselves from the rule of King George, they did not want to set themselves up to be ruled by a monarch or strong federal government again. This led to the founding fathers making the federal government too weak, which led to the scrapping of the articles of confederation and the creation of the Constitution.
