The first electron acceptor in cellular respiration is NAD+. Cellular respiration refers to the metabolic reactions taking place in organisms that aims to convert biochemical energy obtained from nutrients present in food into adenosine triphosphate (ATP). The process involves the oxidation of glucose which then results to the formation of water and carbon dioxide that are considered to be cell's waste products.
