I believe that the ideology in American society that is related to liberty for Alexis de Tocqueville is laissez-faire.
For Tocqueville, liberty means freedom and the right to be free without involvment from the government And the definition of laissez-faire is that it is a free economy in which the government intervenes as little as possible.
