To solve for x and y, isolate each variable and simplify your equation:

Solve for x:
2x+7=3y-1 (Subtract 7 on each side)
2x=3y-8 (Divide by 2 on each side)
x=[tex] \frac{3y}{2} -4[/tex]

Solve for y:
2x+7=3y-1
2x+8=3y (Add 1 on each side)
[tex] \frac{2x}{3} + \frac{8}{3} [/tex]=y (Divide by 3)
y=[tex] \frac{2x}{3} + \frac{8}{3} [/tex]
