During 1663 why did South Carolina grow faster than North Carolina as a colony?

South Carolina grew faster as a colony because it had the largest slave population who worked on plantations. And because these plantations grew many wanted items including cotton, tobacco, rice, sugar, indigo, and other crops. All of these crops were essential for the colonies.
