50°13' East In 1566, the easternmost border of the Ottoman Empire was near the location of the modern day City of Al Khobar along the coast of the Persian Gulf. The latitude of the city is approximately 26°13' North, 50°13' East. This is significantly further east than the Ottoman Empire's border in 1520 which didn't even approach the Persian Gulf and was approximately 42° East.
