The dendrites and soma would be classified as receptive regions. Dendrites are attached to nerve cells and reach out from the cell. Through the dendrites other cells can communicate by sending impulses, and those impulses are then sent to the cell body. Soma are actually known as the cell body, and are non-processing parts of cells.
