The Kiowa Indians migrated through the Rocky Mountains of Colorado to Oklahoma, where they settled and were known as the some of the finest horsemen among the other Indian tribes of the plains. In the 1830s, the horse culture shifted, creating big distinctions of wealth that resulted in social divisions.
