Different countries have different festive folk tales. Which country has a legend of a guilt-ridden witch who flies around on Epiphany Eve giving out presents?
The country that has such a legend is Italy. According to Italian mythology, Befana is a being similar to Santa Claus. She flies on her broom on Epiphany Eve, giving out presents to those children who were good all year long, and giving them a lump of coal or dark candy if they misbehaved.
