Explain how the segment addition postulate can be modeled using a real-world object

The segment addition post. says that given two points A and C and a point B in between them, the sum of segment AB and BC equals AC. A real world example of this is if someone was building a sidewalk, and has the measurements of the distance from the start of the sidewalk to a point in the middle and the distance from that same point in the middle to the end. The person can add these measurements and get the full length.
