Hint: 16 ounces equals 1 pounds.

So if 2 pounds 32 ounces, (16 times 2) and one half of 16 is 8, then the 2 and a half pound's is less heavier. 
 If you are wondering, 50 ounces equals to 3.2 pounds
 16 times 3 = 48 + 2 = 50
