John Paul Jones was a Scottish American sailor. His significance was that he was a naval fighter. 
- - John Paul Jones played a big part in history as he was a American Soldier from Scotland. 
And he succeeded to be a Naval fighter which was very important to him and in the war as it helped a lot.
