The circulatory system brings nourishment to all cells of the body. The circulatory system exchanges critical gases with the respiratory system; unneeded carbon dioxide is exchanged for much needed oxygen. The respiratory system provides oxygen so the body can "burn" (oxidize) the food that is brought into the body through the digestive system.
